Why Can’t I Comment on Some of your Posts?
As from Mar 2019, I decided to not allow comments on most posts. I found that I was having less and less time to respond in a timely manner. And that just did not seem fair to the readers. And it made me feel guilty and increased my level of procrastination in attending to the main purpose of my site – to blog. I am very sorry. However you can try me on ClearlyHelena’s Facebook page. That might be a quicker way to get hold of me. Thanks!

What Crochet Terminolgy do you use?
My favourite by a mile, is the generic crochet pictorial symbols. In written format, I almost exclusively use American crochet terminology. That’s because I learnt crochet with those terms and never knew there was any other. And when I found out there were, the American crochet terminology made more sense to me and corresponded much better with the generic crochet symbols.

I wrote to you but didn’t hear back.
I apologize to anyone who has written in (via the contact form) and either didn’t hear back from me or heard back from me in a very untimely manner. There are a number of reasons for this.
First, for some reason, I don’t get email notifications when someone uses my contact form. It used to notify me but it has since stopped. And I don’t have the time or energy like I used to, to try and rectify this technical failing.
Second and more importantly, I write this blog first and foremost for myself. It is my way of keeping a record and setting out tutorials and techniques I come up with or have used so that I myself can refer to them when I need. And I do need a lot of reminders!!! That some of my postings can be of use to anyone else for free is an added bonus for me… even if I don’t get to respond to direct messages in a timely manner!
That said, there can be many months when I have nothing new to add, too busy with other things, and so don’t log in to my site to find out if there are messages.
So, my apologies.
