How to Join the MM Caston into a Round

My preferred crochet cast on, or starting foundation row is an MM Caston. And while it is superior in feel and looks to the standard chain-foundation, when it comes to joining the end and start stitches to form a round, it can be just a tat tricky.

But there will be lots of occasions when you will want to use the MM Caston and you will want to work in the round. So how do we joing the MM Caston into a Round in the neatest way possible?

How to Join a MM Cast-on into a Round

I have here a short tutorial to show how I do it. I am sure there are many other ways out there and over time, I may have improvements on this method. But as of now, this is how I join the MM Caston, end to start stitch, to be able to work in rounds (rather than rows).

I apologize for the amateurish quality of my video. I am still fumbling around to learn to do this better. So many people have requested videos of one kind or another, so I thought I better try even if it is not perfect.

Sometimes the work is out of the frame. That is because I have to crochet looking via a camera screen and sometimes, instinct takes over and I look at the actual work itself while crocheting and then whammo, it is not properly centered on screen.

And lastly, my left hand can look a bit disabled. That is because some of the hand muscles have antrophied. Sad but grateful they still work!!!

Just for illustrative purposes, the following show what the work looks like when ...

.. the MM Cast-on is first joined into a round.
.. what the work looks like with one row of sc, after joining the MM Cast-on into a round

The next questions are:
• how to end off a round neatly?
• how to begin the next round neatly?
